Peter Berkowitz on Liberal Education and Freedom of Speech

Peter Berkowitz is the Tad and Dianne Taube Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University. The pieces of Mr. Berkowitz’s distinguished career run the gamut from political theory to foreign policy to international law–and those are just the highlights. Between books, Mr. Berkowitz has written hundreds of articles offering timely insight into the news of the day, never skipping breadth nor depth in any of them. His talk at Beloit will concern freedom of speech and its importance to liberal education. His personal website is
He will be coming to Beloit College on the invitation of Young Americans for Freedom at Beloit, a students organization dedicated to advancing conservatism on campuses across the nation since 1960.

Come lend a hand at BUG, the student-run organic campus farm. Work may include harvesting, weeding, or putting the garden to sleep for the season.
Every volunteer can go home with a haul of fresh produce that we pick! Hope to see you there!

Men on Boats

Ten explorers. Four boats. One Grand Canyon. Men On Boats is the true(ish) history of an 1869 expedition when a one-armed captain and a crew of loyal volunteers set out to chart the course of the Colorado River. While the characters in Men on Boats were historically cisgender white males, this cast is made up entirely of people who aren’t.
Event Admission Fee: Student $5, Senior $7, General $10
